  • Study on the Inheritance, Innovation and Development of Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi in the Treatment of COVID-19

    The discovery of highly effective medicine "Qingfei Paidu Decoction" for COVID-19 is a new era gift of traditional Chinese medicine to the world. The traditional Chinese medicine Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi, as a medicinal plant in the family of Labiatae, is the dominant variety of genuine medicinal material in North China. It is the leading traditional Chinese medicine in the advantageous area of agricultural products with Chinese characteristics in Shangdang of Changzhi City, and it is one of the 21 herbal medicines in the new national prescription "Qingfei Paidu Decoction" for the rapid and effective treatment of COVID-19. This paper introduces S. baicalensis Georgi and its traditional Chinese medicine GAP base, ecologically suitable planting county and medicinal value in poor areas, and studies the intellectual property resources related to S. baicalensis Georgi, such as traditional knowledge, biological genetic resources, patents, new plant varieties, geographical indications, and trademarks. This paper mainly discusses the inheritance essence, innovation and high-quality development strategy of S. baicalensis Georgi under the rural revitalization strategy and traditional Chinese medicine development strategy from the aspects of intellectual property rights, important agricultural cultural heritage, advantageous areas of characteristic agricultural products and so on.

  • Advances in Research of Green Tea Polyphenols in Drug Development

    This paper elaborated the chemical components, biological metabolism, and progress in the field of drug development of green tea polyphenols, mainly in the prevention and treatment of cancer, neurodegenerative diseases, and diabetes. The potential anti-tumor activity of tea polyphenols can be achieved through intervening in various stages of tumor generation, development, and metastasis. However, the development of tea polyphenols as a therapeutic drug still faces many challenges, such as low bioavailability. Nanoparticle-based drug delivery systems have particular advantages over the simple tea polyphenols. Since there are emerging safety issues and potential local drug overdose effects, it is necessary to determine the actual dosage and pharmacological mechanism of the drug after encapsulating the nanoparticles.

  • Wonderful Use of Cinnamomi Cortex to Conduct the Fire Back to the Origin

Among all functions, the wonderful use of Cinnamomi Cortex is in conducting the fire back to the origin. It can conduct the fire of triple energizers, which is not possessed by other drugs and is unique to Cinnamomi Cortex. Through observations and practices of some special medical records, it is found that the fire conducting of Cinnamomi Cortex can play a key and decisive role.

Chemical Composition of Natural Medicine

  • Qualitative Identification and Content Determination of Psoralen in Ficus Pandurata Hance

    [Objectives] This study aimed to establish a qualitative identification and content determination method for psoralen in Ficus pandurata Hance and compare the psoralen contents in roots, stems and leaves of F. pandurate Hance and Ficus pandurata Hance var. holophylla Migo. [Methods] Thin-layer chromatography(TLC) was used for qualitative identification, and the content of psoralen was determined by high-performance liquid chromatography. The chromatographic conditions were as follows: column, Agilent ZORBAX Eclipse Plus C_(18)(250 mm×4.6 mm, 5 μm); mobile phase, methanol-water(55∶45); flow rate, 1 mL/min; detection wavelength, 246 nm; column temperature, 30 ℃; and injection volume, 10 μL. [Results] The TLC chromatogram of F. pandurate Hance showed clear spots and good separation. The concentration of psoralen detected in the range of 2.06-41.20 μg/mL had a good linear relationship with the peak area(r=0.999 9). The RSD values of the precision, stability and reproducibility tests were all less than 2%. The average recovery rate was 100.2%(RSD=1.13%, n=6). [Conclusions] The established method is simple, easy, accurate and reproducible. It can be used for quality control of F. pandurate Hance.

  • Determination of Mangiferin and Homomangiferin in the Leaves of 93 Kinds of Mango

    [Objectives] To determine the content of mangiferin and homomangiferin in mango leaves by HPLC. [Methods] The mangiferin and homomangiferin were separated and determined by Elite Hypersil C_(18)(5 μm, 4.6 mm ID×250 mm) chromatographic column. Acetonitrile-0.1%(V/V) phosphoric acid solution was used as the mobile phase for gradient elution, the flow rate was 1.0 mL/min, the detection wavelength was 258 nm, the column temperature was 30 ℃, and the injection volume was 5 μL. [Results] There was a good linear relationship between mangiferin and homomangiferin in the range of 0.025 4-0.508 0 μg/μL(r=0.999 9) and 0.000 960-0.019 200 μg/μL(r=0.999 9), respectively. The average recovery rate(n=6) of mangiferin and homomangiferin in mango leaves was 101.7%(RSD=2.0%) and 101.0%(RSD=1.7%), respectively. [Conclusions] There were great differences in the content of mangiferin and homomangiferin in the leaves of different varieties of mango. The experimental results could provide a scientific basis for further development and utilization of mango leaf resources.

  • Experimental Study on the Anti-inflammatory Effect of Ficus pumila L.

    [Objectives] To study the anti-inflammatory effects of extracts from different parts of Ficus pumila L. [Methods] Inflammatory models of xylene-induced ear swelling, glacial acetic acid-induced celiac capillary permeability and carrageenan-induced toe swelling were established to evaluate the effects of extracts from different parts of F. pumila L. on inflammation. The inflammatory model of ear swelling in mice with bilateral adrenalectomy induced by xylene was established to determine whether its anti-inflammatory effect depends on hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal axis(HPAA) system. [Results] Compared with the blank control group, except that there was no statistical significance in the low dose group(P>0.05), the high and middle dose groups of extracts from different parts of F. pumila L. had significant inhibitory effects on xylene-induced ear swelling in mice. The high, middle and low dose groups of F. pumila L. extract could significantly increase the celiac capillary permeability of mice induced by glacial acetic acid, and significantly inhibit the toe swelling induced by carrageenan. Compared with the blank control group, the high and middle dose groups of extracts from different parts of F. pumila L. could significantly inhibit xylene-induced ear swelling and carrageenan-induced toe swelling in bilateral adrenalectomy mice. [Conclusions] The extracts from different parts of F. pumila L. had anti-inflammatory activity, and its anti-inflammatory effect was independent of hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal axis(HPAA) system.

  • Effects of Polysaccharides from Dicliptera chinensis(L.) Nees. on TLR4/NF-κB Signaling Pathway in Cell Model of Non-alcoholic Fatty Liver

    [Objectives] To observe the effects of polysaccharides from Dicliptera chinensis(L.) Nees. on the expression of TLR/NF-κB pathway related proteins in HepG2 cells induced by oleic acid, and to explore the possible mechanism of polysaccharides from D. chinensis(L.) Nees. in the treatment of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD). [Methods] HepG2 cells were induced with oleic acid to establish a non-alcoholic fatty liver cell model. After intervention with 0.25 and 0.5 mg/mL of D. chinensis(L.) Nees. polysaccharides, the ALT and AST activity and TG and TC contents were detected with kits, and the changes in the expression of CDK5, TLR4, p-NF-κB and NF-κB were analyzed using Western-blotting. [Results] In the HepG2 cells induced with oleic acid, the ALT and AST activity increased significantly, the TG and TC contents increased significantly, and the expression levels of CDK5, TLR4 and p-NF-κB proteins up-regulated significantly. In the HepG2 cells intervened with D. chinensis(L.) Nees. polysaccharides, the activity of ALT and AST, the contents of TG and TC, and the expression levels of CDK5, TLR4 and p-NF-κB proteins all reduced significantly. [Conclusions] Polysaccharides from D. chinensis(L.) Nees. may interfere with NAFLD by inhibiting the TLR4/NF-κB pathway.

  • Study on the Mechanism of Atractylodes lancea in the Treatment of Diabetes Based on Network Pharmacology

    [Objectives] To predict the mechanism of Atractylodes lancea in the treatment of diabetes by using the method of network pharmacology. [Methods] The active constituents of A. lancea were mined and their action targets were predicted by using TCMSP database, and the targets of diabetes were screened out by GeneCards, and OMIM databases. The "constituent-target-pathway-disease" network of A. lancea in the treatment of diabetes was constructed by using Cytoscape software. The target protein-related interaction network was constructed by STRING database, and the biological function annotation and pathway analysis of key targets were carried out. [Results] The 4 active constituents of A. lancea could treat diabetes by intervening in 47 targets, 95 GO biological processes and 116 main biological pathways. [Conclusions] The wogonin, NSC63551, 3β-acetoxy atractylone and β-carotene in A. lancea may regulate nuclear receptor activity, transcription factor activity(directly bind to the ligand-regulated sequence-specific DNA), steroid receptor, G protein-coupled amine receptor activity, sodium-chloride transporter activity, neurotransmitter receptor activity and other pharmacological effects, by mediating AGE-RAGE pathway, IL-17 pathway, PI3 K-Akt pathway, p53 pathway, etc., so as to treat diabetes.

  • GC-MS Analysis and Antibacterial Activity Study of Volatile Oil from 11 Kinds of Aurantii Fructus Immaturus Processed Products

    [Objectives] To study the volatile components and antibacterial effects of 11 kinds of Aurantii Fructus Immaturus processed products. [Methods] 11 kinds of Aurantii Fructus Immaturus processed products were obtained according to the traditional processing method, the volatile oil was extracted by steam distillation, and the composition of volatile oil in the 11 kinds of processed products was analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS). the relative percentage content of each component in these 11 kinds of processed products was determined using the peak area normalization. The drug sensitivity activity of the volatile oil of these 11 kinds of processed products was tested using the K-B paper diffusion method and the minimum inhibition volume fraction of volatile oil of these 11 kinds of processed products was tested using the microdilution method. [Results] The highest yield of volatile oil of 11 kinds of these processed products was baking(5.193%), and the lowest was stir-bake to scorch(1.998%). A total of 36 chemical components were identified from the volatile oils of these 11 kinds of processed products. The components with the most volatile oil were stir-bake to scorch(24 kinds), and the components with the least volatile oil were the method of processing with rice-washed water(15 kinds). They contain 8 kinds of common chemical components, such as limonene, linalool, myrcene, α-pinene. The highest content of limonene came from processing with honey(60.93%), the lowest came from processing with rice-washed water(55.25%); the highest content of linalool came from processing with rice-washed water(7.139%), the lowest came from processing with honey(5.436%); the highest content of myrcene came from processing with honey(1.899%), the lowest came from stir-bake to scorch(1.632%); the highest content of α-pinene came from raw Aurantii Fructus Immaturus(2.355%), and the lowest came from stir-bake to scorch(1.618%). The volatile oil of these 11 kinds of Aurantii Fructus Immaturus processed products has good antibacterial effect on Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. [Conclusions] The oil yields of volatile oils of 11 kinds of Aurantii Fructus Immaturus processed products are different, the content of limonene is significantly different, and the changes of other chemical components and their contents are not significantly different. The volatile oil of 11 kinds of Aurantii Fructus Immaturus processed products has certain antibacterial effect.

  • Process Optimization and Content Determination of Total Flavonoids of Zhuang Medicine Clerodendrum japonicum(Thumb.) Sweet

    [Objectives] To optimize the extraction process of total flavonoids of Zhuang medicine Clerodendrum japonicum(Thumb.) Sweet and establish a method for its extraction and content determination. [Methods] The total flavonoids of C. japonicum were extracted by reflux extraction method. Through a single factor experiment, the effects of extraction method, extraction solvent concentration, extraction volume and extraction time on the total flavonoids content of medicinal materials were investigated to select the optimal extraction process of the total flavonoids of C. japonicum. [Results] The optimal extraction process of the total flavonoids of C. japonicum was 75% ethanol, 1∶20 solid-to-liquid ratio, and 50 min reflux extraction time. [Conclusions] This method can effectively determine the content of total flavonoids in C. japonicum and provide a certain scientific basis for the study of the quality standard of this Zhuang medicine. This method has high reproducibility. It is stable and feasible in extraction of total flavonoids from Zhuang medicine C. japonicum.

  • Extraction and Purification Process Optimization and Antioxidant Activity in vitro of Flavonoids in Amaranthus caudatus L.

    [Objectives] To explore the optimal extraction and purification process of the flavonoids in Amaranthus caudatus L. and to study the antioxidant activity in vitro of the flavonoids in A. caudatus. [Methods] Taking A. caudatus as the raw material, flavonoids were extracted by alcohol extraction method, and AB-8 macroporous adsorption resin was selected for purification. The hydroxyl radical scavenging ability, DPPH radical scavenging ability, and O~(2-) radical scavenging ability were used as evaluation indicators, to explore the antioxidant activity in vitro of the flavonoids in A. caudatus. [Results] The optimal extraction process conditions of flavonoids in A. caudatus are: liquid-to-material ratio 40: 1, extraction temperature 60 ℃, ethanol concentration 60%, ultrasonic power 320 W, extraction time 50 min. Under these conditions, the extraction yield of flavonoids in A. caudatus is(1.35±0.01)%. The optimal purification process conditions of flavonoids in A. caudatus are 2.5 g AB-8 macroporous adsorption resin, sample volume 5 mL, mass concentration of adsorption solution 1.60 mg/mL, pH value of adsorption solution 3.0, sample flow rate 3 BV/h, ethanol concentration in desorption process is 70% and the desorption flow rate is 3 BV/h. Under these conditions, the recovery rate reaches 88.35%±0.68%. [Conclusions] A. caudatus has a high content of flavonoids and has excellent free radical scavenging ability in vitro. This study is intended to provide important technical support for the research of flavonoid activity of A. caudatus and the development of functional products.

  • Extraction Process Optimization and Anti-oxidant Activity of Total Flavonoids in Dendrobium nobile Lindl.

    [Objectives] To improve the yield of flavonoids from Dendrobium nobile Lindl. [Methods] On the basis of four single-factor experiments of solid/liquid ratio, extraction temperature, extraction time and ethanol volume fraction, the ultrasonic-assisted extraction process of total flavonoids from D. nobile Lindl. was optimized using quadratic general rotary unitized design, and the in-vitro anti-oxidant activity of the flavonoids extracted was evaluated preliminarily. [Results] The optimized extraction process for flavonoids in D. nobile Lindl. was as follows: extraction time 10 min, solid/liquid ratio 1∶15(g∶mL), extraction temperature 75 ℃ and ethanol volume fraction 90%. According to the revised optimal process, 6 repeated experiments were carried out, and the average yield of flavonoids was(0.551 5±0.000 4) mg/g, consistent with the predicted value of the model. The results of anti-oxidation experiment show that the flavonoids extracted from D. nobile Lindl. have better scavenging effect on ABTS and DPPH free radicals, and the scavenging activity is proportional to the mass concentration of the extract. [Conclusions] The optimized extraction process for flavonoids from D. nobile Lindl. is reasonable and feasible, and the flavonoids in D. nobile Lindl. have strong antioxidant activity.

  • Saponins Content in Fibrous Roots of Pseudostellaria heterophylla and Optimization of the SEP Extraction Technology

    [Objectives] To explore the saponins resources in fibrous roots of Pseudostellaria heterophylla and optimize the SEP technology for extracting saponins. [Methods] Saponins contents in fibrous roots and root tubers of P. heterophylla were compared; with the fibrous roots as host materials, this experiment applied Box-Behnken design to analyze the influence of steam pressure, maintenance pressure time, moisture content of host materials on the content of saponins extracts. [Results] Saponins content was higher in fibrous roots than in tuberous roots of P. heterophylla; the response surface optimization showed that SEP(steam explosion pretreatment) promoted the contents of saponins and extracts in fibrous roots, and the optimal extracting conditions were stream pressure 1.50 Mpa, maintenance pressure time 54 s, and moisture content of host materials 30%. Under this extracting conditions, the verification value of saponins content experiment was 0.441%, 36.53% higher than the untreated control group. [Conclusions] This research offered a new method of exploring saponins resources from fibrous roots of P. heterophylla, and provided a reference for developing new medicinal parts of P. heterophylla.

  • Protective Effects of Yinzhihuang Combined with Metformin on Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Diseases Based on PPAR-α Signaling Pathway

    [Objectives] To explore the protective effects and mechanism of Yinzhihuang combined with metformin on nonalcoholic fatty liver diseases(NAFLD) based on PPAR-α signaling pathway. [Methods] 54 male SD rats were randomly divided into 2 groups, namely normal group(12 rats) and high-fat feed group(42 rats). After 8 weeks, 2 rats were randomly selected from each group. After pathological examination confirmed the success of the NAFLD model, the high-fat feed group was divided into model group, Yinzhihuang(9 000 mg/kg), metformin group(200 mg/kg), Yinzhihuang combined with metformin group(4 500 mg/kg+100 mg/kg), 10 rats in each group. Except the normal group and the model group, the other groups were given treatment drugs at the same time, one time a day, on the fifth weekend of the experiment, at the last time of administration, fasting but giving water for 16 h, then collected blood and liver tissue. Biochemical method was used to detect AST and ALT in serum and SOD, MDA, GSH-px biochemical indicators in liver tissue; enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) was used to detect the levels of TNF-α, IL-6 and TGF-β in liver tissue; Western blot was used to detect the expression of peroxisome proliferators-activated receptor-α(PPAR-α) protein in rat liver tissue. [Results] Compared with the model group, the serum levels of ALT, AST and MDA in liver tissue of model group rats were significantly increased; the levels of SOD and GSH-px in liver tissue were significantly increased; TNF-α and IL-6 and TGF-β contents in liver tissue were significantly increased. [Conclusions] Both Yinzhihuang and metformin have a therapeutic effect on NAFLD rats, and the effect of combined application of the two is significantly better than the intervention effect of Yinzhihuang or metformin alone, the mechanism is possibly associated with the regulation of PPAR-α signaling pathway.

  • Regulation Mechanism of TFP on TGF-β1/STAT3 Signaling Pathway in Immune-mediated Liver Injury in Mice

    [Objectives] To study the effect of total flavonoids extracted from Polygonum perfoliatum L.(TFP) on immune-mediated liver injury induced by bacillus Calmette-Guerin plus lipopolysaccharide(BCG+LPS) in mice, and to explore its action mechanism. [Methods] 60 Kunming mice were divided into normal group, model group, control group(bifendate) and TFP low, medium and high dose groups according to random number table method, with 10 mice in each group. On the first day of modeling, mice were injected with 0.2 mL of BCG solution(12.5 mg/mL) through the tail vein, and on the eleventh day, 0.2 mL of LPS(37.5 μg/mL) were injected into the tail vein to prepare a mouse model of immune-mediated liver injury; from the first day of modeling, the normal group and the model group were administered intragastrically with the corresponding volume of distilled water, and the bifendate group and the TFP high, medium, and low dose groups were administered intragastrically with the corresponding doses once a day for 11 d. After the last time administration, fasting but giving water for 16 h, took blood from eyes, then collected the liver tissue. The levels of alanine transaminase(ALT) and aspartate transaminase(AST) in serum were detected by biochemical method; transforming growth factor-β1(TGF-β1), intercellular adhesion molecule-1(ICAM-1), interleukin-6(IL-6) and interleukin-1β(IL-1β) expression levels in liver tissue were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA); phosphorylated protein tyrosine kinase JAK-2(p-JAK2), phosphorylated signal transducer and activator of transcription 3(p-STAT3) protein expression levels were detected by Western Blot method; the degree of liver tissue lesions was detected by HE staining. [Results] Compared with the model group, the levels of ALT and AST in the serum of mice in each dose group of TFP(high dose 600 mg/kg, medium dose 400 mg/kg, and low dose 200 mg/kg) were reduced, and the activities of T-SOD and GSH-Px were increased; the content or expression of β1, ICAM-1, IL-6, IL-1β decreased, and the expression of p-JAK2 and p-STAT3 protein decreased; pathological sections showed that the degree of inflammatory necrosis and the degree of lesions in the liver tissues of each dose group of TFP were reduced by varying degrees. [Conclusions] TFP has a protective effect on BCG+LPS-induced immune-mediated liver injury in mice. The mechanism may be related to regulating the phosphorylation level of JAK2 and inhibiting the inflammatory reaction, thereby regulating the TGF-β1/STAT3 signaling pathway and improving the immune-mediated liver injury.

  • Protective Effect of Shenlingbaizhu Powder on Peroxidation Injury and Inflammatory Response in Mice with Pneumonia

    [Objectives] The study aims to explore the protective effect of Shenlingbaizhu powder on peroxidation injury and inflammatory response in mice with pneumonia. [Methods] 60 NIH mice were randomly divided into the blank group, model group, control group, large dose group, medium dose group and small dose group of Shenlingbaizhu powder. The mice in the control group were given cefixime granules, while the mice in each group of Shenlingbaizhu powder were given corresponding concentrations of Shenlingbaizhu powder water decoction by gavage. After 7 d, the content of MAD, SOD and CRP in the mice were detected by ELISA, while the content of NO was detected by fluorescence, and lung index was also detected. [Results] The medium dose and large dose of Shenlingbaizhu powder can effectively reduce the concentration of MAD and improve the level of SOD in mice with pneumonia. The effect of the large dose of Shenlingbaizhu powder is more obvious than that of the control group. Moreover, the large dose of Shenlingbaizhu powder can effectively reduce the level of NO in mice with pneumonia. In addition, the medium dose and large dose of Shenlingbaizhu powder can reduce the lung index and CRP level of mice with pneumonia, and the results are statistically significant. [Conclusions] The medium dose and large dose of Shenlingbaizhu powder can effectively reduce the concentration of MAD and improve the level of SOD in mice with pneumonia. The effect of the large dose of Shenlingbaizhu powder is more obvious than that of the control group. Moreover, the large dose of Shenlingbaizhu powder can effectively reduce the level of NO in mice with pneumonia. In addition, the medium dose and large dose of Shenlingbaizhu powder can reduce the lung index and CRP level of mice with pneumonia, and the results are statistically significant.

  • Effect of Radix Ilicis Pubescentis on the Rats with Hyperlipidemia

    [Objectives] To study the hypolipidemic effect of Radix Ilicis Pubescentis and to provide experimental scientific basis for the study of hypolipidemic mechanism of Radix Ilicis Pubescentis. [Methods] 60 healthy(SD) male rats were selected, 10 rats were given basic feed and pure water as blank control group, and the other 50 rats were fed with high-fat diet for 4 weeks. After establishing the hyperlipidemic rat model, the rats were randomly divided into model group, high, middle and low dose groups(1 000, 800, 500 mg/kg), and positive control group(simvastatin 0.4 mg/mL). The corresponding drugs were intragastrically administered to the rats in each group(blank control group and model group intragastrically administered with normal saline). Four weeks later, blood samples from abdominal aorta were taken to detect serum total cholesterol(TC), serum triglyceride(TG), low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C), and high density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C). [Results] Compared with the blank control group, TC, TG and LDL-C increased while HDL-C decreased in the model group(P<0.05); compared with the model group, TC, TG and LDL-C in Radix Ilicis Pubescentis group decreased to varying degrees, and the content of HDL-C in serum of rats had no statistical significance. Compared with the blank control group, the serum TC and TG contents of the model group, positive control group, high, middle and low dose groups of Radix Ilicis Pubescentis extract significantly increased(P<0.01 or 0.05), and the serum LDL-C content of rats decreased(P<0.05). [Conclusions] The extract of Radix Ilicis Pubescentis had a certain lipid-lowering effect on hyperlipidemia in rats, and had obvious preventive and therapeutic effect on hyperlipidemia.

  • Discussion on the Selection of ACEI and ARB for the Patients with COVID-19 and Hypertension from ACE2

    With the wide spread of COVID-19, some studies have confirmed that novel coronavirus enters the cell through the binding of spike protein and ACE2 protein, which has the risk of causing the virus to enter the cell to accelerate its transmission. ACEI and ARB are the key drugs for the treatment of hypertension and are widely used in clinic. They are good for ventricular and vascular remodeling in patients with hypertension, coronary heart disease and heart failure. ACEI and ARB drugs may increase the expression of ACE2 in lung tissue and increase the risk of aggravation of the disease. According to the advice of hypertension experts: for mild ordinary COVID-19 patients with hypertension, we can consider discontinuing ACEI and ARB drugs, while for severe COVID-19 patients with hypertension, ACEI and ARB drugs should be stopped immediately. During the discontinuation period, temporary replacement therapy with diuretics, dipine and vasodilatation hypotensive drugs can be considered.

  • The Characteristics of the Drug Composition in the Treatment of Insomnia by External Bath Prescription of Traditional Chinese Medicine

    [Objectives] The research aimed to carry out a retrospective analysis on the characteristics of the drug composition in the treatment of insomnia by external bath prescription of traditional Chinese medicine, to provide ideas for the research and development of new Chinese medicine for insomnia. [Methods] The external bath prescriptions of traditional Chinese medicine related to insomnia were collected, and the appearance frequency of drug was analyzed, and statistical analysis of drug with high appearance frequency was conducted. [Results] In the external bath prescriptions of traditional Chinese medicine related to insomnia, the top ten herbs with high appearance frequency were as follows: Chaozaoren, Drgonsbones, Margaritifera, Yejiaoteng, Schisandrae Chinensis Fructus, Lilii Bulbus, Platycladi Semen, Poria, Coptidis Rhizoma, and Scutellariae Radix. According to the classification by efficacy, these herbs mostly have the effects of calming, nourishing and heat clearing. [Conclusions] Traditional Chinese medicine is most closely related to heart, kidney, liver and other viscera. Tranquilizing and sedative drugs should be chosen, which corresponds with the understanding on pathogenesis of insomnia in traditional Chinese medical science, and embodies the characteristics of external bath prescription of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of insomnia.

  • Effect of Tuina-SET Sling Exercise Therapy on Analgesic Substances in Serum of Patients with Nonspecific Low Back Pain

    [Objectives] This paper aimed to investigate the effect of Tuina combined with sling exercise therapy(SET) and psoas & abdominal training on serum 5-hydroxytryptamine(5-HT) and β-endorphin(β-EP) levels in patients with nonspecific low back pain(NLBP). [Methods] Total 46 patients with NLBP who visited the Tuina Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Hainan Medical University from August 2019 to May 2020 were randomly and evenly divided into control group and treatment group. On the basis of Tuina therapy, the patients in the control group and treatment group were treated with psoas & abdominal training and SET, respectively. After the treatment, the serum 5-HT and β-EP levels of the patients were detected. [Results] The serum 5-HT and β-EP levels in the treatment group were significantly improved compared with the control group(P<0.05). [Conclusions] The nerve & muscle reconstruction techniques of Tuina combined with SET or psoas & abdominal training can improve serum 5-HT and β-EP levels in patients with NLBP.

    The undergraduate education of nursing science produces higher practical operational talents to the society,and the importance of experimental teaching cannot be ignored in the training of nursing students. The basic experimental teaching method of undergraduate nursing has been explored and reformed by the College of Basic Medicine of Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine. After the reform,the experimental teaching adopts the teaching method of PBL mode,and the experimental course is composed of several specific and important medical problems. The specific tasks involved in each problem include relevant morphological knowledge,functional knowledge,diagnostic and laboratory knowledge,and clinical medical knowledge. It makes the teaching content of experimental course more comprehensive,and leads to the transition from basic medicine to clinical medicine. This has gradually and effectively improved the practical ability,scientific research thinking,clinical comprehensive ability and learning interest of undergraduate nursing students.
