Gout has an increasing morbidity rate around the world, correlating well with hypertension, hyperlipidemia, atherosclerosis, obesity and insulin resistance, and so on. In view of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM), gout belongs to arthromyodynia. Keys to syndrome differentiation of TCM are in differentiation, corporeality and coated tongue(characterized to be damp). According to the dialectical characteristics of gout TCM, this paper summarized the research of gout TCM, including food-based traditional Chinese medicine, bill of lading medicine, drug extraction, optimal herbs and dosage, individual herb and compound prescription, in order to explore and elaborate the objective curative effect and exact mechanism of gout treated by TCM.

[Objectives]This paper aimed to analyze the liposoluble components in seeds of different bitter gourd germplasms. [Methods]Taking 3 bitter gourd germplasms from different sources as materials, the composition and relative contents of liposoluble components in the seeds were analyzed using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS). [Results]A total of 22, 18 and 18 compounds were detected from Papua, Y7 and Y108, respectively, accounting for 38.63%, 90.20% and 92.53% of the total liposoluble components. Among them, eight liposoluble components were unique to Papua, and two liposoluble components were unique to Y108. The composition and relative contents of liposoluble components differ among different bitter gourd germplasms. The main chemical components were γ-tocopherol, vitamin E, and β-tocopherol. The content of γ-tocopherol was high in the three germplasms, accounting for 8.885%, 20.090% and 20.314%, respectively. [Conclusions]This study can lay the foundation for breeding functional bitter gourd varieties.

[Objectives] This study aimed to establish a method for simultaneous determination of four ingredients in Guanxin Danshen tablets by RP-HPLC. [Methods] HPLC chromatography was adopted with column of Thermo Hypersil-Keystone C_(18) column(4.6 mm × 250 mm, 5 μm), mobile phase of acetonitrile(A)-0.03 mol/L ammonium acetate(pH adjusted to 2.4 with formic acid)(B), gradient elution(0-5 min, 5% A; 5-10 min, 5% A→19% A; 10-40 min, 19% A; 40-68 min, 19% A→36% A; 68-90 min, 36% A→95% A), flow rate of 1.0 mL/min and column temperature of 25 ℃. [Results] The content of salvianic acid A sodium, protocatechuic aldehyde, salvianolic acid B and tanshinone II_A showed good linear relationship with chromatographic peak area in the range of 3.310-18.66, 0.039 50-0.237 0, 0.750 0-4.500, 0.059 20-0.355 0 μg, respectively. The recovery rate(n=6) was 101.75%, 96.86%, 104.15% and 99.03%, respectively, and the RSD was 1.52%, 2.81%, 1.80%, and 1.37% respectively. The established method has good precision, reproducibility and stability. [Conclusions] This method can be used for the quality control of multiple ingredients of Guanxin Danshen tablets.

[Objectives] To establish an High Performance Liquid Chromatography(HPLC) method for simultaneous determination of four amino acids in Fufang Ejiao Buxue Granule. [Methods] The quantitative analysis was carried out with a Waters Sunfire C_(18) column(4.6 mm × 250 mm, 5 μm). A binary mobile solvent was used: mobile solvent A was acetonitrile-0.1 mol/L sodium acetate solution(adjusting pH to 6.5 with 36% acetic acid)(7∶93) and mobile solvent B was acetonitrile-H_2O(4∶1). The mobile phase was delivered at a flow rate of 1.0 mL/min with a gradient elution profile(0-13 min, 100% A → 93% A; 13-17.9 min, 93% A → 88% A; 17.9-29.0 min, 88% A → 85% A; 29-39 min, 85% A → 66% A; 39-45 min, 66% A → 0% A). The column temperature was at 43 ℃. The detection wavelength was 254 nm. [Results] The injection volume of L-hydroxyproline, glycine, alanine, and L-proline showed a good linear relationship with the chromatographic peak area in the range of 0.012 to 0.117, 0.022 to 0.218, 0.010 to 0.097, 0.016 to 0.160 μg, separately. The average recovery rate(n=6) was 96.4%, 97.3%, 97.1%, and 99.4%, respectively; the relative standard deviations were 1.2%, 1.9%, 1.7%, and 0.9%, respectively. [Conclusions] This method is simple in operation and good in reproducibility, and provides a reliable method for controlling the quality of Fufang Ejiao Buxue Granules.

[Objectives] To effectively solve the problem of poor oral bioavailability of total flavonoids in Kang Zhu Gan Lu(ZYZH), a new hypoglycemic Tibetan solid preparation, ZYZH oral proliposome was prepared by modern preparation method, and its hypoglycemic effect was evaluated. [Methods] ZYZH proliposome was prepared by carrier deposition method, and its particle morphology and Zeta potential were detected. Taking encapsulation efficacy as indictor, the optimal prescription and preparation process of ZYZH oral proliposome were screened by orthogonal experiment. In addition, the hypoglycemic activity of ZYZH oral liposome in alloxan-induced hyperglycemic mice was studied. [Results] The repose angle, average particle size, encapsulation efficiency, and Zeta potential of ZYZH proliposome are 34.2°,(442.5±3.5) nm, 67.7% and(-47.2±3.4) mV, respectively. Compared with the model group, the fasting blood glucose level of the hyperglycemic mice significantly declined(P<0.01), and their body weight changed insignificantly after four weeks of oral administration of ZYZH proliposome(P>0.05). [Conclusions] The preparation process of ZYZH oral proliposome is characterized by simple operation, high encapsulation efficiency and good stability. The new hypoglycemic Tibetan drug ZYZH oral liposome has obvious hypoglycemic effect on alloxan-induced hyperglycemic mice.

[Objectives] To study the effects of Fruticosa potentilla L. on the expression of key enzymes and hormones related to glucose and lipid metabolism in T2 DM rats. [Methods] The ethyl acetate fraction of 95% methanol extract of F. potentilla(MEE) was administered orally to the T2 DM rats, and the level of glucose and expression of insulin, resistin, leptin, glucokinase(GK) and glucose-6-phosphatase(G-6-Pase) in the rats were measured and detected. [Results] In the T2 DM rats administered with MEE, the postprandial blood glucose level decreased, the expression levels of resistin, leptin and G-6-Pase were down-regulated, and the expression levels of insulin and GK were up-regulated(P<0.05, P<0.01).[Conclusions] F. potentilla can reduce effectively postprandial blood glucose level, regulate the expression of a variety of enzymes and hormones related to glucose and lipid metabolism and recover partially the insulin level in T2 DM rats to achieve resistance to T2 DM.

[Objectives] To investigate the effect of diet with Picria fel-tarrae Lour particle(PFLp) on growth performance, blood biochemical indexes, immune and antioxidant function of Hongguang yellow chickens(HYC). [Methods] 80 HYC in age of 1 d were divided into 4 groups randomly and each group was assigned to 5 replicates with 24 chicks in each replicate. Group A was control group fed only basal diet. Group B, C and D were treatment groups and fed diets with 0.125%, 0.25% and 0.50% of PFLp respectively during the trial of 49 d. Serum samples were taken from 10 chicks in each group in the age of 21, 35 and 49 d respectively and analyzed for biochemical, immune and antioxidant parameters in blood. [Results] ADG from group C in 21 d was increased significantly than that from group A, B and D(P<0.01), and ADG in 35 d from group C was also significantly greater than that from group A,B and D(P<0.05), but not much difference was found on ADG among the 4 groups in 49 d(P>0.05); ADFI from group C in 35 d was significantly higher than that from group A,B and D(P<0.05). ADFI from group C in 21 and 49 d were also higher than that from group A(P>0.05). FCR from group C in 21 d was much better than that from the other three groups(P<0.01). Death rate of group C was 50 percent lower than group A; There was no difference occurred in serum biochemical and immune parameters among the 4 groups during the trial(P>0.05).However, the T-AOC from group C and D in 21 d was enhanced significantly than that from group A and B(P<0.01), and the one from group C in 35 d was also increased greatly than that from group A, B and D(P<0.05). GSH from group C and D in 21 d was much higher than that from group A and B(P<0.05), and the ones from group C and D in 35 d were also significantly higher than those from group A and B(P<0.01). T-SOD in three stages trended up also in group C and D(P>0.05). [Conclusions] The diet with 0.25% PFLp in 21 and 35 d could dramatically improve the growth performance, significantly increase the antioxidant capacity and effectively reduce death rate. Diet with 0.25% PFLp is the most appropriate among the three different additions.

[Objectives] To study the antioxidant activity of different solvent extracts of Gynura segetum in vitro, so as to provide experimental basis for further study and utilization of medicinal resources of G. segetum. [Methods] The antioxidant activity of different solvent extracts of G. segetum was determined by UV-vis spectrophotometer using DPPH free radical scavenging method and ABTS~+ free radical scavenging method. [Results] The scavenging rates of DPPH and ABTS~+ by acetone extract were high, reaching 98.9% and 98.3%, respectively; the scavenging rate of DPPH and ABTS~+ by water extract was the lowest, and the scavenging rates were 76.7% and 77.5%, respectively. The order of ABTS~+ radical scavenging rate of samples extracted with different extractants was as follows: S_5(acetone extract)>S_1(ethyl acetate extract)>S_6(ethanol extract)>S_4(n-butanol extract)>S_3(methanol extract)>S_2(distilled water extract); the order of DPPH radical scavenging rate of samples extracted with different extractants was as follows: S_5(acetone extract)>S_1(ethyl acetate extract)>S_4(n-butanol extract) >S_6(ethanol extract)>S_3(methanol extract)>S_2(distilled water extract). [Conclusions] The extracts of acetone, ethyl acetate, n-butanol, anhydrous ethanol, methanol and distilled water from the roots of G. segetum had obvious scavenging effects on DPPH and ABTS~+, all had antioxidant components, and acetone had the highest antioxidant effect as an extractant.

[Objectives] This study aimed to determine the total coumarin content and antioxidant activity in vitro of Obazema, a Yi Medicine. [Methods] The extraction process of coumarin from Obazema was optimized by response surface method, and the total contents of coumarin in different sources and different parts of Obazema were compared. With Vc, chlorogenic acid and citric acid as positive controls, the antioxidant activity of the ethanol extracts of different parts of Obazema was determined. [Results] The optimum extraction process for coumarin from Obazema were as follows: 80% ethanol, solid to liquid ratio 1∶67, extraction time 120 min and extraction temperature 57 ℃. The total contents of coumarin in roots, stems, leaves, flowers and fruit of Boenninghausenia sessilicarpa Levl. and B. albiflora(Hook.) Reichb. were 7.75, 6.50, 33.45 and 44.35, and 8.1, 4.6, 17.8 and 18.7 mg/g, respectively. The free radicle-scavenging activity of coumarin from Obazema had certain dose-effect relationship, and was slightly stronger than that of the positive drugs. Under the phenanthroline-Fe~(2+) method, the free radicle-scavenging activity ranked as B. albiflora(Hook.) Reichb.>B. sessilicarpa Levl.>Vc>citric acid>chlorogenic acid; under the DPPH method, the free radicle-scavenging activity ranked as B. albiflora(Hook.) Reichb.>B. sessilicarpa Levl.>Vc>chlorogenic acid>citric acid; and under the ABSTS~+ method, the free radicle-scavenging capacity ranked was in the order as B. albiflora(Hook.) Reichb.>B. sessilicarpa Levl.>Vc>chlorogenic acid>citric acid. [Conclusions] There are significant differences in coumarin content between different sources and different parts of Obazema. When coumarin is used as the main active substance, Obazema is better harvested during the flowering period, and the free radicle-scavenging activity of B. sessilicarpa Levl. is higher than that of B. albiflora(Hook.) Reichb. The antioxidant activity of the flower-fruit ethanol extracts of B. sessilicarpa Levl. and B. albiflora(Hook.) Reichb. is stronger than that of the commonly used antioxidants such as Vc, chlorogenic acid and citric acid, which is related to antioxidant components in the ethanol extracts.

[Objectives] To observe the effect of drug-containing serum from different extracts of Phyllanthus reticulatus leaf on the proliferation of human gastric cancer SGC-7901 cells and the effect of in vivo on the life extension rate of mice with H22 ascites tumor, and to investigate the effects of chemical components such as Corilagin, ethyl gallate, ethyl brevifolincarboxylate, and gallic acid on the proliferation of human gastric cancer SGC-7901 cells. [Methods] MTT method was used to observe the inhibitory effect of drug-containing serum of different extracts of P. reticulatus leaf on human gastric cancer SGC-7901 cells in vitro to determine its active site. The active site was used as the research object to establish a Kunming mouse ascites tumor model, to investigate the effect on the life extension rate of mice with H22 ascites tumor, to further separate the monomer components from the effective fraction and investigate its effect on human gastric cancer SGC-7901 cells. [Results] Compared with the 10% blank serum control group, 10% drug-containing serum of ethyl acetate and n-butanol in P. reticulatus leaf had significant inhibitory effect on the proliferation of human gastric cancer SGC-7901 cells, and the inhibition rate was 34.99% and 28.68%, respectively(P<0.05). Compared with the blank group, the survival time of the high dose group of ethyl acetate in P. reticulatus leaf was significant(P<0.05). Gallic acid, Corilagin, and Brevifolincarboxylic acid ethyl ester had a significant inhibitory effect on the proliferation of human gastric cancer SGC-7901 cells, with IC_(50) of 26.52, 70.45, and 158.86 μg/mL, respectively. Ethyl gallate had no inhibitory effect on the proliferation of human gastric cancer SGC-7901 cells, and its IC_(50) was 251.96 μg/mL. [Conclusions] The drug-containing serum of ethyl acetate and n-butanol extract of P. reticulatus can inhibit the proliferation of human gastric cancer SGC-7901 cells. Ethyl acetate of P. reticulatus leaves can increase the life extension rate of mice with H22 ascites tumor. Gallic acid, Corilagin, and Brevifolincarboxylic acid ethyl ester isolated from its active site are the material basis for inhibiting the proliferation of human gastric cancer SGC-7901 cells.

[Objectives] To optimize the processing technology of baked Rheum tanguticum carbon. [Methods] Firstly, the baking temperature and baking time were investigated by single factor, and the content of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural(5-HMF) was determined by HPLC. The main influencing factors of baking effect were baking temperature, baking time and tablet specifications. The L_9(3~4) orthogonal design experiment was carried out to optimize the processing technique of R. tanguticum carbon. [Results] The optimum processing technique was as follows: small-sized tablets, controlled oven baking temperature at(210±2)℃, and baking time of 20 min. [Conclusions] The optimum processing technique of R. tanguticum carbon is reasonable and feasible. Thus, this experiment can provide a certain reference for processing method and quality control of R. tanguticum carbon.

[Objectives] To optimize the extraction process of antioxidant active components from seeds of Firmiana platanifolia. [Methods] The seeds of F. platanifolia were taken as the research object. The primary samples of seeds of F. platanifolia were prepared following the procedure of selection, cleaning, shelling, drying and pulverization. The DPPH·(1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl) scavenging rate of the extract of seeds of F. platanifolia was used as an indicator, to conduct the single factor experiment for determining optimum single factors such as extraction solvent, extraction time, solid-to-liquid ratio, and extraction temperature. Then the experimental design was optimized by the response surface methodology. [Results] Single factor experiment showed that the optimal extraction solvent for the antioxidant active components of F. platanifolia seeds was ethyl acetate, the optimal extraction time was 50 min, the optimum solid-to-liquid ratio was 1∶6 g/mL, and the optimal extraction temperature was 60 ℃. The response surface optimization experiment showed that the optimal extraction process of the antioxidant active component extract of F. platanifolia seeds was: the extraction solvent was ethyl acetate, the extraction time was 45 min, the solid-to-liquid ratio was 1∶5 g/mL, and the extraction temperature was 55 ℃, which was basically consistent with the results of single factor experiment. Under the optimal extraction conditions, the DPPH· scavenging rate of ethyl acetate extract(200 mg/mL) of F. platanifolia seeds was 94.25%, which was equivalent to that of vitamin E(V_E) solution(147.39 mg/L) dissolved with ethyl acetate. [Conclusions] The ethyl acetate extract of F. platanifolia seeds has a strong antioxidant capacity of eliminating DPPH· in vitro.

[Objectives] This study aimed to optimize the preparation process of Radix Polygonum Multiflorum Preparata-Herba Taxilli tea bags. [Methods] Taking the comprehensive weighed score of total flavonoid content,soup color,aroma and taste as an indicator,the preparation process of tea bags was optimized using an orthogonal test. [Results]The results of the orthogonal test show that the optimal preparation process for the Radix Polygonum Multiflorum Preparata-Herba Taxilli tea bags are as follows: particle size of 14 meshes,solid to liquid ratio of1∶ 40,brewing temperature of 70 ℃,and brewing time of 10 min. [Conclusions] The optimized preparation process is reasonable and feasible. It is suitable for the production of Radix Polygonum Multiflorum Preparata-Herba Taxilli tea bags.

[Objectives] To explore the process of simultaneous extracting total flavonoids and chlorogenic acid from Flos Lonicerae by pressure assisted extraction. [Methods] Based on the single factor experiment, orthogonal experiments were carried out to investigate the effects of solvent concentration, solid-to-liquid ratio, extraction pressure, extraction time and extraction temperature on the extraction rate of total flavonoids and chlorogenic acid. [Results] The results showed that the extraction pressure had a significant effect on the extraction of two kinds of chemical constituents from F. Lonicerae. The optimum process conditions were as follows: solvent concentration was 60%, solid-liquid ratio was 1∶20(g/mL), extraction pressure was 2 MPa, extraction time was 30 min, extraction temperature was 70 ℃. The process conditions are stable, and the extraction efficiency is higher than that of ultrasonic assisted extraction method. Under the test conditions, the extraction rates of total flavonoids and chlorogenic acids were respectively 15.66% and 3.89%. [Conclusions] This study provides a new theoretical basis for the development and utilization of F. Lonicerae.

[Objectives] To study the culture of callus produced by the leaves of the ethnic medicine ‘E Se', the induction of adventitious buds and the regeneration system of tissue culture seedlings. [Methods] Multi-factor orthogonal experiment was used to design and analyze. [Results] The best medium for callus induction was MS+2.0 mg/L 6-BA+0.1 mg/L 2, 4-D. By comparing the effects of cytokinin 6-BA, KT and TDZ on induction of adventitious bud differentiation, it was found that the optimum medium for adventitious bud regeneration was MS+0.5 mg/L 6-BA+0.5 mg/L KT+0.15 mg/L IBA. Finally, adding 0.2 mg/L IBA(0.1 or 0.2 mg/L) to MS medium could effectively make regenerated seedlings produce roots, and the efficiency was more than 70%. [Conclusions]It laid a foundation for the large-scale cultivation of the seedlings of the ethnic medicine ‘E Se' and the promotion of their artificial cultivation.

[Objectives] To establish a method for the determination of heavy metals and pesticide residues in Dendrobium officinale produced in Guangxi and its culture substrate. [Methods] The contents of five heavy metals(Pb, Cd, As, Hg and Cu) were determined by the atomic absorption spectrophotometric(AAS) method; residues of 9 organochlorine pesticides(α-BHC, β-BHC, γ-BHC, δ-BHC, p,p′-DDT, p,p′-DDE, p,p′-DDD, o,p′-DDT and pentachloronitrobenzene) were determined by gas chromatography(GC). [Results] The contents of five heavy metals in the medicinal materials of D. officinale produced in Guangxi were 0.96, 0.21, 0.021 mg/kg, and not detected, and 0.35 mg/kg. The contents of five heavy metals in the culture substrate were 0.03, 0.19, 0.21, 0.004 and 1.80 mg/kg, respectively; the content of 9 organochlorine pesticide residues in the sample was not detected. [Conclusions] The detection results of heavy metal content and organochlorine pesticide residues in D. officinale produced in Guangxi and its substrate are consistent with the limit requirements of the Chinese Pharmacopoeia. This experiment is expected to provide reliable data reference for ensuring the safety of the drug resources of D. officinale in Guangxi.

This paper introduced three cases of treating diseases with Tiaozhong Yiqi Decoction. Tiaozhong Yiqi Decoction, first proposed in Treatise on the Spleen and Stomach written by Li Gao, is an effective prescription for treating the syndrome of dampness stagnancy due to spleen deficiency. The authors sorted out the treatment of some difficult and complicated diseases with this prescription and the curative effect is remarkable. Tiaozhong Yiqi Decoction is evolved from Buzhong Yiqi Decoction by removing ATRACTYLODIS MACROCEPHALAE RHIZOMA and ANGELICAE SINENSIS RADIX, and adding ATRACTYLODIS RHIZOMA and AUCKLANDIAE RADIX. It uses ASTRAGALI RADIX, GINSENG RADIX ET RHIZOMA, and GLYCYRRHIZAE RADIX ET RHIZOMA to benefit qi and invigorate spleen, so as to treat the deficiency of spleen; it uses BUPLEURI RADIX and CIMICIFUGAE RHIZOMA to raise the clear yang; it also uses ATRACTYLODIS RHIZOMA, CITRI RETICULATAE PERICARPIUM, and AUCKLANDIAE RADIX to harmonize the middle to dispel the dampness. In this paper, the case of tinnitus and deafness belongs to the syndrome of dampness stagnancy due to spleen deficiency, dampness obstruction due to qi block, and dampness accumulation affecting clear orifices. The case of red vaginal discharge belongs to the syndrome of sunken spleen qi due to spleen deficiency and sunken yin fire. The case of cough belongs to the spleen deficiency combined with earth not engendering metal. All cases were treated with Tiaozhong Yiqi Decoction, fully proving the mechanism of the same treatment for different diseases. Only by identifying disease causes and syndromes, may it be able to obtain remarkable curative effect.

[Objectives] This study aimed to observe the efficacy and safety of Yinzhihuang granules and entecavir in the treatment of hepatitis B-induced cirrhosis. [Methods] Total 80 patients with decompensated hepatitis B-induced cirrhosis were evenly and randomly divided into two groups, treatment group and control group. The patients in the treatment group were given orally with 0.25 mg entecavir and 5 000 mg Yinzhihuang granules once a day, and those in the control group were given orally with 0.5 mg entecavir once a day. The levels of aspartate aminotransferase(AST), alanine aminotransferase(ALT), hyaluronic acid(HA) and HBV DNA, the Child-Pugh score, and the positive situation of HBeAg in different groups were observed before treatment and 12, 24, 48 and 96 weeks after the treatment, respectively. [Results] The serum ALT, AST, HA and HBV DNA levels, the HBeAg positive rate, and the Child-Pugh score in the treatment and control groups were significantly improved after the treatment(P<0.05). The improvement of the above indicators in the treatment group at week 96 was significantly better than that in the control group(P<0.05). [Conclusions] The combination of Yinzhihuang granules and entecavir is superior to entecavir in the treatment of decompensated hepatitis B-induced cirrhosis.

[Objectives] To observe the clinical effect of dark tea with pericarpium citri reticulateae combined with metformin for type 2 diabetes mellitus. [Methods] A total of 80 cases of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus were randomly divided into the control group and the observation group with 40 cases in each group. The control group was given metform for treatment, and the observation group was given dark tea with pericarpium citri reticulateae combined with metformin for treatment. The two groups were continuously treated for 12 weeks. The indexes of patients were observed and recorded,such as the body mass index(BMI), abdominal circumference(AC), hemoglobin A1 c(HbA1 c), fasting blood glucose(FBG), postprandial 2 h blood glucose(P2 hBG),uric acid(UA),total cholesterol(TC),and triglyceride(TG). The incidence of adverse reactions during the treatment period and the patient satisfaction for treatment in the two groups were counted. [Results] After treatment, the FBG, P2 hBG and HbA1 c in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05) and the decrease of the above indexes in the observation group was more significant than that in the control group(P<0.05). After treatment,the BMI,AC,UA,TC and TG in the observation group were decreased more significantly when compared with those before treatment and those in the control group after treatment, differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). The above indexes in the control group did not change significantly before and after treatment(P>0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions was 2.5% in the observation group and 5.0% in the control group,the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05). The patient satisfaction was 97.5% in the observation group and 55.0% in the control group, the difference was significant(P<0.05). [Conclusions] The curative effect of dark tea with pericarpium citri reticulateae combined with metformin for type 2 diabetes mellitus is better than that of western medicine alone and has no obvious adverse reactions, thus it is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
