[Objective]To study the biological characteristics of vegetative growth of cultivated Saussurea involucrata in a low altitude region.[Methods]The measure agronomic traits of cultivated S. involucrate were researched,including leaf number,plant height,root length,and fresh weight under different treatments. [Results]The seedling emergence rate could be improved if plots were covered with a straw mat immediately after sowing the seeds. The biomass of spring-sown plants was significantly higher than that of autumn-sown plants. The growth of 1-year-old seedlings was slow from germination to the 45 thday,whereby it increased and reached a moderate rate by 70 d. Characteristics of perennial cultivated plants,such as plant height and leaf number,were stable and changed a little within the current year. Growth of seedlings increased under 60% shade cloth until the stage of 5 true leaves. Cultivated S. involucrata also demonstrated drought tolerance. One-year-old plants could be cut twice in the same year,but 2-and 3-year-old plants four times. Regenerative ability could be promoted by cutting,which was also improved resilience to high temperature and pest damage. [Conclusions] Cultivated S. involucrata in a low altitude region had its own biological characteristics of vegetative growth.

[Objective]To discuss the genetic diversity of Pinellia ternata(Thunb.) Breit in China at molecular level. [Methods] With P. ternatain 23 populations in from 15 provinces as the research materials,DNA of 77 samples were extracted by CTAB method. RAPD-PCR amplification analysis was carried out. And statistical analysis was carried out by DPS software. The Euclidean distance was calculated; and the genetic clustering dendrogram was established. [Results]4 primers were selected out from 24 primers. And 32 amplified bands were obtained by PCR amplification,of which 28 bands were of polymorphism. Thus,the polymorphism rate was as high as 87. 4%. Among the 23 groups,DNA in group I had the highest polymorphism rate in different plants of the same population,which was 73. 7%; and DNA in group L1 had the lowest polymorphism rate of 18. 2%. The average polymorphism rate of 23 groups was 44. 0%. The degrees of variation within and among populations were both high. [Conclusions] Both natural and cultivated populations of P. ternate were highly mixed. Although some plant individuals had the same phenotype,the genotype varied according to the composition of genetic materials.

Meteorological conditions exert a tremendous influence on the artificial cultivation of Cordyceps militaris. Regulation of meteorological conditions has been the key to success. The paper summarized and analyzed the season,place for cultivation and meteorological factors during growth and development phases and we expected to provide references for the artificial cultivation of Cordyceps militaris.

[Objective]To discuss the cutting propagation and cultivation technology of Plumbago zeylanica L. [Methods] The cutting,breeding,soil,fertilizer application and field management were researched. [Results]The branch age had little relationship with the survival rate. During the process of cutting,ABT rooting powder treatment was not needed for the branches. Survival rate had no significant correlation with the length of branches. The survival rate on loamy soil was 95%. Cutting period should be from June to August. The high soil maturation degree and fully decomposed organic fertilizer were helpful to the growth of P. zeylanica. Soil moisture should be paid special attention after cutting. Based on observation,the seedling stage of P. zeylanica was 20- 30 d after cutting; the optimal transplanting period was 20- 30 d after seed sowing. [Conclusions]The cultivated seedlings of P. zeylanica had significant and strong principal roots; the principal roots were10 cm in length with many fibrous roots(more than 15); the seedlings grew well with dark green leaves and strong stems.

[Objective]To research the apoptosis of hepatoma cells HepG-2 induced by shikimic acid from FRUCTUS ANISI STELLATI and its mechanism. [Methods]Hepatoma cells HepG-2 at logarithmic phase were randomly divided into drug group and control group. Shikimic acids from FRUCTUS ANISI STELLATI at the concentrations of 0. 125,0. 5 and 1 g /L were used. Inhibitory effects of shikimic acids on HepG-2 cell proliferation were detected by MTT method. Effects of shikimic acids at the concentrations of 0. 125,0. 5 and 1 g /L on the cell cycle of hepatoma cells HepG were researched by Flow Cytometer. Expression of Bcl-2 and Bax proteins were detected by immunocytochemistry detection. [Results]Results of MTT test showed that shikimic acid(0. 125,0. 5 and 1 g /L) had significant inhibitory effects on the proliferation of in vitro human liver cancer HepG-2 in a time-and dose-dependent relationship(P < 0. 05). Shikimic acid blocked the hepatoma cells HepG-2 at G1 phase,so that the cells could not enter into S phase for DNA synthesis,which restricted the cell proliferation. Results of immunocytochemistry detection showed that protein expression of Bcl-2 decreased significantly,while Bax expression enhanced significantly,so that the proportion of Bcl-2 to Bax reduced. [Conclusions]shikimic acid blocked the hepatoma cells HepG-2 at G1 phase,and had significant inhibitory effects on the proliferation of human hepatoma cell through reducing the proportion of Bcl-2 to Bax.

[Objective]To study the scavenging activity in vitro of each part of ethanol extract of Rhamnella gilgitica Mansfeild et Melch.[Methods]The extract of Rhamnella gilgitica Mansfeild et Melch with70% ethanol immerse,exteract and concentrate was extracted by Petroleum ether,dichloromethane,ethyl acetate,n-butyl alcohol,ethanol,and each part was configured to the appropriate multiple of the solution,Prussian blue method,Fenton method and DPPH were used to measure the reducing power,scavenging activity and antioxidantactivity. [Results]The ethyl acetate,n-butyl alcohol and ethanol extracted showed obvious scavenging effects and IC50 of the ethyl acetate,n-butyl alcohol and ethanol with DPPH were 0. 060 5,0. 076 3,0. 083 3 g /L,respectively. [Conclusions] Scavenging activity of extractive and samples concentration showed a dose-response relationship,the reducing power close to VCand the scavenging activities are even better than 60% by the concentrations above 1. 0 g /L. The high polarity of solvents layer extracted had the strongest free radical scavenging activity.

[Objective]This study tries to approach the long-term toxicity of Radix Aconiti(RA) combined with Fructus Trichosanthis(FT)in rats and investigate the relationship between compatibility and toxicity about this anti-drugs.[Methods] Eighty male and female SD rats were randomly divided into RA 0. 3 g /kg,RAFT(1∶1) 0. 3,0. 1 g /kg and the blank control groups,10 male rats and 10 female rats each group. the rats of the drug administered groups received drugs by ig with the water extract of RA and RAFT,the oral volume was 5 mL /kg,the rats were administered one time a day for 30 days. 24 hours later after the last time of drug administration,2 /3 of the rats were sampled blood from their abdominal aorta and organs to figure the indexes of organs out,detecting heart creatine kinase(CK),lactate dehydrogenase(LDH),liver aspartate aminotransferase(AST),alanine aminotransferase(ALT),kidney blood ureanitrogen(BUN),creatinine(Cr) and other biochemical markers,making the pathological examination for major tissues and organs. The remaining 1 /3 rats were detected the corresponding indicators in the same way 15 days later after drug withdrawal.[Results]The kidney index of female rats in various drug administered groups was higher than that of control group and the thymus index was lower. The RBC were higher than that of control group(P < 0. 05). The content of AST,ALT,LDH and BUN of various drug administered groups were higher than that of control group(P < 0. 05 or P < 0. 01),and the content of Cr in female rats of RA 0. 3 g /kg and RAFT 0. 3 g /kg groups was higher than that of control group in(P < 0. 05 or P < 0. 01). The content of AST and LDH in female rats of RA 0. 3 g /kg group was higher than that of RAFT 0. 1 g /kg group(P < 0. 05 or P < 0. 01). The content of AST,ALT,Cr and LDH in female rats and the content of AST in male rats of RAFT 0. 3 g /kg group was higher than that of RAFT 0. 1 g /kg group(P < 0. 05 or P < 0. 01). A certain extent visceral injure can be seen in heart,liver,and kidney of the rats in RAFT 0. 3 g /kg group through main viscera conventional HE dying. The content of AST and ALT in female rats and the content of ALT in male rats of RA 0. 3 g /kg and RAFT 0. 3 g /kg group were higher than that of control group at the end of recover term. The content AST and ALT in RA group and RAFT group were of no statistically significant difference. [Conclusions]Radix Aconiti has significant toxic effect on heart,liver and kidney of rats in the given dose. The long-term toxicity has no obvious difference between RA group and RAFT group in rats,but more harmful in female rats than in male.

[Objective]To investigate the preventive protective effects and its mechanism of vitamin C and polysaccharide in Dioscrea pposite Thunb. on cadmium-induced liver damage in mice. [Methods]50 Kunming mice were randomly divided into control group,model group,D. pposite polysaccharides protection group,vitamin C protection group,D. pposite polysaccharides and vitamin C protection group. At the 7th day of feeding,the mice were given saline by gavage,and the mice in other groups were intraperitoneally injected with 3. 0 mg /kg CdCl2 solution. 24 hours after injection,blood was collected for ALT and AST test. Then,mice were sacrificed and the livers were removed for the calculation of hepatosomatic index(liver weight / body weight). Also,the liver homogenates were prepared for the determination of SOD and GSHPx activities and the of MDA and NO contents. [Results]Compared with the mice in model group,the liver-somatic index,serum ALT,AST activity,and contents of liver MDA and NO reduced,the activities of SOD and GSH-Px,and the content of GSH improved in D. pposite polysaccharides and vitamin C protection group(*P < 0. 05,**P < 0. 01). Compared with the model grfoup,the protective effects of D. pposite polysaccharides combined with vitamin C strengthened(**P < 0. 01). [Conclusions]The combination of D. pposite polysaccharides and vitamin C has preventive protection effects on cadmium-induced liver injury in mice by antagonizing cadmium and /or oxidative stress. The application of D. pposite polysaccharides combined with vitamin C had a synergistic effect.

[Objective]To investigate the extraction technology of saponins from lily(Lilium brownii) and the anti-depressant activity of saponins. [Methods]The saponins extraction was optimized by an L9(34) orthogonal design with the volume fraction of ethanol,amount of ethanol,extraction time as factors,using saponins extraction rate as index. Kunming mice tested were divided into normal control group(constant volume of normal saline),fluoxetine group(0. 004 g /kg) and high-dose,medium-dose and low-dose lily saponins groups(0. 1,0. 05 and0. 025 g /kg). The duration of immobility within 4 min were recorded in tail suspension test and forced swimming test. Body temperatures of mice were recorded at 4 h after modeling in reserpine-induced hypothermia test. [Results]The optimal extraction technology of lily saponins was as follows: extraction with 70% ethanol once,lasting for 3 h. Compared with normal control group,the duration of immobility within 4 min in tail suspension test and forced swimming test were decreased in medium-dose and low-dose lily saponins groups(P < 0. 05); the body temperature of mice was decreased at 4 h after modeling(P < 0. 05). [Conclusions]Lily saponins have certain anti-depressant activity in mice.

[Objective]To discuss the in vitro bacteriostasis of the extracts from the seeds and leaves of Gingko biloba L. [Methods]Crude extracting solutions were extracted from the G. biloba leaves and seeds by ethanol extracting method. Inhibitory effects of the extracting solutions of G. biloba leaves and seeds on Escherichia coli,Proteus vulgaris,Bacillus subtilus and Staphylococcus aireus were researched. [Results]Extracts from G. biloba leaves had relatively strong effects on S. aireus with the minimal inhibitory concentration being 125. 00 mg/mL,and had certain inhibitory effects on E. coli with the minimal inhibitory concentration being 250. 00 mg /mL. However,it had no inhibitory effects on B. subtilus or P. vulgaris. Extracts from G. biloba seeds had no inhibitory effects on four bacteria. [Conclusions] Extracts from G. biloba leaves had relatively good inhibitory effects on E. coli and S. aireus,but had no effects on B. subtilus or P. vulgaris. Extracts from G. biloba seeds had no inhibitory effects on all the four bacteria.

[Objective]To determine the plumbagin contents in the stems,leaves and roots of HERBA PLUMBAGINIS ZEYLANICAE under different grown conditions,and to provide test data for its domestication. [Methods]The plumbagin contents in the stems,leaves and roots of HERBA PLUMBAGINIS ZEYLANICAE were detected by RP-HPLC. [Results] Plumbagin contents in HERBA PLUMBAGINIS ZEYLANICAE grown in mellow soil and clay were higher than those grown in sandy and raw soils. Plumbagin contents in HERBA PLUMBAGINIS ZEYLANICAE applying K and N fertilizers were higher than that of P fertilizer. Plumbagin content was the maximum in HERBA PLUMBAGINIS ZEYLANICAE grown under full illumination. Plumbago contents in the roots,stems,and leaves grown under different reproduction modes showed only slight changes. [Conclusions]Considering from the angle of plumbagin content,the optimal cultivation condition for HERBA PLUMBAGINIS ZEYLANICAE was as follows: a given amount of N and K fertilizers should be applied during the growth of cutting seedlings of HERBA PLUMBAGINIS ZEYLANICAE on clay; and full illumination should be provided. Under this condition,the high-yield and highquality HERBA PLUMBAGINIS ZEYLANICAE could be obtained.

[Objective]To explore the identification methods of FRUCTUS AMOMI in different production areas,to detect the infrared absorption spectra of FRUCTUS AMOMI in different production areas by FTIR,to switch the spectra by derivative spectra; and to find out the characteristic difference absorption of FRUCTUS AMOMI in different production areas. [Results]There were no significant differences in the infrared spectra of FRUCTUS AMOMI in different production areas. Some characteristic peaks showed up in the wavelengths of 600- 750 and1 300- 1 400 cm- 1after the fourth-order derivave spectra. Peak differences appeared in eight samples in the wavelengths of 1 000- 1 300,1 400- 1 500,2 800- 3 000 and 3 500- 3 800 cm- 1. [Conclusions] There were significant differences in the FTIR spectra of FRUCTUS AMOMI in different production areas after processed by derivative spectra. This method could better identify the FRUCTUS AMOMI in different production areas.

[Objective]To isolate and purify the xanthones from Lomatogonium carinthiacum. [Methods] High-speed counter-current chromatography method(HSCCC),combined with macroporous resin chromatography were applied to the separation and purification of xanthones from L. carinthiacum; and the chemical structural identification was carried out by spectroscopic methods,including HR-ESI-MS and extensive1 D and 2D NMR techniques. [Results]Seven xanthones were obtained.,namely 1,4,8-trimethoxyxanthone-6-O-β-D-glucoronyl-(1-6)-O-β-D-glucoside(1),1,2,6-trihydroxyxanthone-8-O-β-D-glucoside(2),1,5,8-trihydroxy-3-methoxyxanthone(3),1,8-dihydroxy-3,4,5-trimethoxyxanthone(4),8-hydroxy-1,3,5-trimethoxyxanthone(5),1-hydroxy-3,5,8-trimethoxyxanthone(6) and 1,8-dihydroxy-4,5-dimethoxy-6,7-methylenedioxyxanthone(7) [Conclusions]Compounds 1,2 and 7 were separated from L. carinthiacum for the first time.
