• Promoting of Animal Gastrointestinal Motility by “Qingpi San” Emulsion

    [Objective]To investigate the effects of " Qingpi San" emulsion on the gastrointestinal motility of animals with gastroparesis,and to discuss its action mechanism. [Method]Animal model with gastrointestinal motility disorder was constructed and " Qingpi San" emulsion was given by gavage. Then,the remaining rate of substance in mice stomach was calculated,as well as the intestinal movement percentage of mixture of Arabian gel and active charcoal powder. MTL (motilin) levels in the plasma,gastric and intestinal homogenate of rats were measured,as well as the MTL distribution change in the jejunum and gastric antrum of rats. [Result] " Qingpi San" emulsion could effectively reduce the remaining rate of substance in stomach of normal mice,significantly enhance the intestinal propulsive movements percentage of mice,significantly improve the MTL levels in the plasma,gastric and intestinal homogenate in mole animals with gastrointestinal motility disorder,as well as the expression of MTL positive material in their gastric antrum and jejunum. [Conclusion]The promoting of gastrointestinal motility of the tested animal by " Qingpi San" emulsion was related to the increase of MTL level in their plasma,gastric and intestinal homogenate as well as the distribution change of MTL cells in their gastrointestinal tract.

  • Extraction and Purification of Oligomeric Proantho Cyanidins from Pine Bark and Its Hypolipidemic Effects

    [Objective]To study the extraction and purification methods for Oligomeric Proantho Cyanidins (OPC) from pine bark and its hypolipidemic effects. [Method]70% ethanol and macroporous resin were used for the extraction and purification of OPC from pine bark,respectively. Animal model was established by taking mice as the research objects,in order to further study the hypolipidemic effects of OPC extracts. [Result]After purified by NKA macroporous resin,purity of OPC reached as high as 40%. In the pine bark,OPC had the functions of reducing the contents of TG,TC and LDL-C in serum of mice. [Conclusion]OPC extracts from pine bark had certain hypolipidemic effects,which provided scientific basis for its further development and utilization in medicine,heath care and other aspects.

  • Neuroprotection Effect of FLOS ROSAE RUGOSAE Extracts on PC12 Cells against Aβ_(25-35 )-induced Cytotoxity

    [Objective]To study the neuroprotection effect of FLOS ROSAE RUGOSAE on PC12 cells against Aβ25-35 -induced cytotoxity. [Method] After being co-incubated with Aβ25 -35 ,the viability of PC12 cells was determined by MTT method,content of MDA was determined by colorimetry, and the expression level of Nf-κb was evaluated by ELISIA. [Result]The extract of FLOS ROSAE RUGOSAE did not show apparent cytotoxity towards PC12 cells; instead,it inhibited the cytotoxity induced by Aβ25-35 . Compared with the model group,the content of MDA and expression of Nf-κb in PC12 cell were decreased after being treated with the extract of FLOS ROSAE RUGOSAE. [Conclusion]The extracts of FLOS ROSAE RUG-OSAE showed neuroprotection effect on the cytotoxity of PC12 induced by Aβ25-35 ,whose mechanism may be related to the decreasing content of MDA and Nf-κb in PC12 cells caused by Aβ-induced oxidative stress.

  • Influence of Gingko Tea on Serum MDA and SOD of Mice with Alcoholic Liver Injury

    [Objective]To study the influence of Selenium-added gingko tea,Zine-added gingko tea and common gingko tea on the malondialdehyde ( MDA) and superoxide dismutase ( SOD) of mice with alcoholic liver injury. [Method] 50 male Kunming mice were divided into 5 groups through weight randomly,including Selenium-added gingko tea group,common gingko tea group,Zine-added Gingko tea group,model control group and blank control group. After the mice were orally administered with gingko tea for 30 days,MDA content and SOD activity in serum of mice were measured according to the kit instructions. [Result] Compared with model group,Selenium-added gingko tea,Zine-added gingko tea and common gingko tea could significantly reduce MDA content ( P <0. 05) and significantly enhance SOD activity ( P <0. 05) in serum of mice. [Conclusion] Selenium-added gingko tea,Zine-added gingko tea and common Gingko tea could obviously reduce the MDA content and SOD activity in serum of the mice,as well as protect liver in mice.

  • Protective Effect of Rubus delavayi Franch on Acute Liver Injury in Mice

    [Objective]To study the protective effect of Rubus delavayi Franch on acute liver injury induced in mice by tetrachloromethane (CCl4) . [Methods]The model of acute liver injury induced by CCl4 was treated with ethanol extract of Rubus delavayi Franch throughout the experiment. the activity of alanine aminotransferase ( ALT) ,aspartate aminotransferase (AST) in serum ,the content of malondialdehyde (MDA) ,and glutathione (GSH) in liver were detected. [Results]Rubus delavayi Franch significantly reduced the activity of AST,ALT and the content of MDA(P <0.05) , while significantly increased the content of GSH (P <0. 05) . [Conclusion]Rubus delavayi Franch has the protective effect on acute liver injury induced by CCl4 ,which has good dose-effect relationship,while the mechanism needs to be further studied.

  • Antioxidant Function of Flavonoids from Songaria cynomorium Herb

    [Objective]To investigate the effect of flavonoids from Songaria cynomorium Herb on antioxidant function of aging mice. [Method]Forty 9-month-old female Kunming mice were randomly divided into four groups. In control group,mice were given sterile water by gavage; in the low, medium and high dose groups,mice were given solutions of S. cynomorium extract powder and sterile water by gavage for 54 d,with the flavonoids doses of 0. 08,0. 17 and 0. 50 g /kg BW,respectively. Changes of SOD,MDA,and myocardial lipofuscin were determined according to the instructions of kits. [Result]Compared with the control group,the activity of SOD was increased significantly by 18. 6%( P <0. 05) ,19. 5% ( P < 0. 05) and 22. 7% ( P <0. 01) in low,high and medium dose groups,respectively. MDA content was reduced in three dose groups,which were 15. 0%( P <0. 05) in medium dose group and 26. 0%( P <0. 01) in high dose group. Myocardial lipofuscin content was also decreased,in three dose groups, which were 11. 2% and 9. 7% in medium dose group and high dose group,respectively. [Conclusion]Flavones extracted from S,cynomorium by ultrasonic technique have antioxidation activity.

  • Content Determination of β-element in Different Parts of Eupatorium adenophorum Spreng

    [Objective]To determine the contents of β-elemene in different parts of Eupatorium adenophorum Spreng. [Method]Contents of β-el-emene in different parts of E. adenophorum grown in Panxi Area of China were measured by HPLC. The chromatographic conditions were as follows: Eclipse XDB-C18( 4.6 mm ×150 mm,5 μm) ,1.0 ml /min flow rate,210 nm detective wavelength,ethanol-acetonitrile-water as ( V/V/V,70∶ 10∶ 20) mobile phase,20 μl injection volume,and 30 ℃ column temperature. [Result]β-elemene existed in different parts of E. adenophorum plant. And the content was the maximum in leaves. In the natural drying leaf sample,β-elemene content was 0. 083%,which was more than 3 times higher than the content in Curcuma wenyujin Y. H. Chen. [Conclusion]Extracting β-elemene from E. adenophorum could greatly reduce the material cost of β-elemene,and could develop new methods for the control of malignant weeds in China.

  • Synergetic Antioxidant Activity of Cordyceps militaris and Other Natural Antioxidants

    [Objective]To study the antioxidant activities of the compound liquids with the extracting solutions of Cordyceps militaris,LUCID GANO-DERMA,LENTINULA,HERICIUM,FOLIUM PERILLAE and FOLIUM GINKGO at different mixture ratios. [Method]The extracting solutions were prepared by microwave method; one,two or three of the extracts from LUCID GANODERMA,LENTINULA,HERICIUM,FOLIUM PERILLAE and FOLIUM GINKGO were mixed with Cordyceps militaris extracts at certain proportions,and then the total reducing power and hydroxyl radical scavenging capacity of the compound liquids were determined and compared with those of single extracting solutions. [Result]The compound liquid with Cordyceps militaris extracting solution (A) ,FOLIUM PERILLAE extracting solution (E) and FOLIUM PERILLAE extracting solution (F) had better antioxidant activity; and the antioxidant activities of other compound liquids all enhanced to different extents compared with the single extracting solutions. [Conclusion]The compound liquids with edible-medicinal fungi extracts and medicinal plants extracts showed higher antioxidant activities, and the antioxidant activities of most compound liquids were better than those of single extracting solutions.

  • Study on the Protective Effect of Polysaccharides from Rhodomytus fomenfosa (Ait.) Hassk. on Acute Liver Injury in Rats

    [Objective]To study the protective effect of polysaccharides from Rhodomytus fomenfosa (Ait.) Hassk. on acute liver injury in rats. [Method]The effects of R. fomenfosa polysaccharides on the content of ALT,AST,MDA,SOD and GSH-PX in serum of acute liver injury rats induced by D-GalN were respectively investigated. [Result] Each dose of R. fomenfosa polysaccharides could significantly reduce the content of ALT,AST,MDA and increase the content of SOD,GSH-P. [Conclusion]R. fomenfosa polysaccharides have good protective effects on acute liver injury in rats induced by D-GalN.

[Method] The species and geographic distribution of medicinal plants resources of Callicarpa Linn. in Guizhou are investigated by field survey,specimen identification and literature textual research. [Result]By research,there are 17 species of medicinal plants resources of Callicarpa Linn. in Guizhou Province,of which 15 species are found in southwest Guizhou,15 species are found in south Guizhou,12 species are found in southeast Guizhou,14 species are found in Tongren area,10 species are found in Bijie area,13 species are found in Zunyi,10 species are found in Guiyang,8 species are found in Liupanshui,and 6 species are found in Anshun. [Conclusion]This study provides theoretical basis for the development and utilization of Callicarpa Linn. medicinal plants resources.

  • Effect of Seawater Stress on the Germination of Celosia argentea Seeds

    [Objective]To study the effect of seawater stress on the germination of Celosia argentea seeds. [Method]Taking germination potential,germination rate,germination index,and vigor index as indicators,the germination performances of C. argentea seeds were measured at 5 concentrations of seawater stress to ascertain the salt tolerance. [Result]With the increasing seawater concentration,the germination rate,germination potential,germination index,and vigor index of C. argentea seeds showed a downward trend. When the seawater concentration reached 25%,the germination rate was still nearly 41%. When the seawater concentration was below 10%,the germination potential,germination index and vigor index of C. argentea seeds showed no significant differences. [Conclusion] C. argentea seeds could tolerate a certain degree of salinity stress when germinating.

  • Study on Screening Medium of Ganoderma lucidum Liquid Fermentation

    [Objective]To screen the optimum medium of Ganoderma lucidum liquid fermentation. [Method]Effect of different carbon sources on mycelial growth of G. lucidum submerged fermentation,biomass and polysaccharide content were studied. [Result] The biomass of fermented G. lucidum mycelium from corn flour hydrolyzate was the largest,followed by corn flour,glucose-corn flour,sugar-corn flour,maltose-corn flour, glucose-maltose and sucrose. Ganoderma lucidum polysaccharide content followed the trend of maltose-corn flour > glucose-corn flour > corn flour > corn flour hydrolyzate > glucose. [Conclusion]Taking all factors into consideration,the liquid fermentation of corn powder was chosen as the most excellent culture medium for Ganoderma lucidum liquid fermentation.

  • Study on the Extraction and Content Determination of Chlorogenic Acid in Different Organs of Lonicera japonica Thunb.

    [Objective]To extract the chlorogenic acid from different organs of Lonicera japonica Thunb. and then determine their contents. [Method] Chlorogenic acid in the vine,leaves,flowers and buds of Lonicera japonica Thunb " Giant Flower One" was extracted by acid ethanol method, and then determined by HPLC. [Result]The content of chlorogenic acid was different in different organs of L. japonica. It was higher in flower and bud,while lower in vine and leaf. The content of chlorogenic acid was in the order of flower (3. 798 mg /g) > bud (3. 795 mg /g) > vine (2. 558 mg /g) > leaf ( 2. 185 mg /g) . [Conclusion]The vein and leaf of L. japonica could be used as the materials for developing medical resources.

  • Comparative Study on the Methods for Determining the Content of Flavonoids in G.biloba Tea and Leaf

    [Objective]To compare the methods for determining the content of flavonoids in G. biloba tea and leaf that were cultivated in Qinba Mountain Area. [Method]The content of flavonoids in G. biloba tea and leaf was determined and analyzed by high performance liquid chromatography ( HPLC) ,ultraviolet spectrophotometry ( UV) and fluorescence spectrophotometry ( FL) . [Result] The content of flavonoids in 9 bathes of G. biloba ranged from 1. 15% to 3. 09% by using HPLC,while that ranged from 1. 22% to 4. 54% by using FL and fom 3. 47% to 10. 5% by using UV. As a result,the content of flavonoids determined by UV was three times higher than that determined by HPLC and that determined by FL,but there was no significant difference between HPLC and FL. The content of flavonoids in G. biloba tea produced from Qinba Mountain Area was determined by HPLC at 2. 65%. [Conclusion]The HPLC method is accurate in qualitative and quantitative analysis; the UV method is more easy and quick than other methods,which is suitable for the quality control of corporation.

  • Study on the Extraction Technology of Total Flavonoids from Lycium chinense Mill.

    [Objective]To study the extraction technology of flavonoids from Lycium chinense Mill. . [Method]The flavonoids were extracted from leaves and fruit stalk of Lycium chinense Mill. by different solvents,the orthogonal test was adopted to study the effect of solvent concentration,solid-liquid ratio,extraction time and material particle size on the content and yield of total flavonoids,so as to determine the best extraction technology. The content of crude flavonoids in the leaves and fruit stalk was detected,and the difference of flavonoids content in different samples was analyzed. [Result]The optimum extraction conditions were: 70% ethanol concentration,1∶ 8 ( V ∶V,g /ml) solid-liquid ratio and 3 h extraction time, under those conditions,the content and yield of flavonoids could reach 79. 4% and 3. 72% respectively. The flavonoids content in the leaves was significantly higher than that in fruit stalk,and the leaves picked in May contained higher content of flavonoids than that picked in October. [Conclusion] The study provided theoretical basis for the development of Lycium chinense Mill. flavonoids.

  • Purification Technology of Epigoitrin from RADIX ISATIDIS by Macroporous Resin

    [Objective]To select the optimum purification technology for the epigoitrin from RADIX ISATIDIS. [Method]Taking adsorption rate and desorption rate as the indices,6 types of macroporous resins were screened by static adsorption test. And the optimal purification conditions of resin were obtained based on dynamic adsorption and static adsorption. [Result]ADS-7 macroporous resin had the best purification effect. And its conditions were 8. 00 mg /ml sample concentration,45 ℃,pH 9. 0,40% ethanol solution as the eluent,1. 5 BV /h flow rate of dynamic adsorption,2. 0 BV /h flow rate of dynamic desorption,and 4. 0 BV eluent. [Conclusion]This method was simple and reliable,and could be used for the purification of epigoitrin from RADIX ISATIDIS.

  • Extraction Technology of Ursolic Acid from Ligustrum lucidum Ait.

    [Objective]To select the optimal extraction technology of ursolic acid in Ligustrum lucidum Ait. . [Method]Taking 5% vanillin and perchloric acid as the color reagents,ursolic acid was extracted from L. lucidum by cellulose method. The optimal color condition was determined by orthogonal test; and the content of ursolic acid was determined at 550 nm. [Conclusion]The optimal color condition was 0. 3 ml 5% vanillin,1. 0 ml perchloric acid under 60 ℃. Under this condition,the extraction rate of ursolic acid in L. vicaryi flower was 2. 037%. [Conclusion] Results of orthogonal test showed that the content of ursolic acid was the highest in the fruits of L. vicaryi.

  • Factors Analysis of Ultrasonic-assisted Extraction of Polysaccharides from RHIZOMA PHRAGMITIS

    [Objective]To optimize the ultrasonic technology extraction of polysaccharides from RHIZOMA PHRAGMITIS. [Method]The effects of some independent variables,including ultrasonic power,treating time and material-water ratio on the extraction yield of polysaccharides were investigated through the response surface methodology based on the analysis of single-factor tests. [Result]It was found that optimal parameters for extracting polysaccharides from RHIZOMA PHRAGMITIS were based on twice extraction for 26 min at ultrasonic power 250 W with a material-water ratio of 1∶ 22. 5 (g /ml) ,which yielded an extraction yield of 1. 724%. Compared with the traditional hot water extraction method,the ultrasonic extraction time was shortened by five-sixths,and the yield of polysaccharides was multiplied by 1. 412 times. [Conclusion]Ultrasonic technology is rapid and efficient to extract polysaccharides from RHIZOMA PHRAGMITIS.

  • Study on the Extraction Processes of Polysaccharides from FOLIUM MORI

    [Objective]To optimize the extraction process of polysaccharides from FOLIUM MORI. [Method]Three different methods like hot water extraction,water extraction-ethanol precipitation and ultrasonic-assisted extraction were adopted to extract polysaccharides from FOLIUM MORI. Taking the yield of polysaccharides as index,the extraction process of polysaccharides from FOLIUM MORI was optimized. [Result] In hot-water immersion method,the optimum condition for extracting polysaccharides was solid-liquid ratio of 1∶ 40 g /ml,extraction time of 1. 5 h and extraction temperature of 80 ℃,which yielded a polysaccharides yield of 11. 3%. In water extraction-ethanol precipitation method,the yield of polysaccharides was the highest at 9. 5% if sample was refluxed for 1. 5 h with 80% ethanol and then extracted for 1. 5 h at 80 ℃ in water bath. In ultrasonic-assisted method,the yield of polysaccharides was 11. 6% if FOLIUM MORI was treated for 10 min with 50 W ultrasonic power before the extraction for 1. 5 h at 80 ℃ with the solid-liquid ratio of 1∶ 40 g /ml. [Conclusion]Based upon the yield of polysaccharides,3 different extraction methods followed a trend of ultrasound-assisted extraction > hot water extraction > water extraction-ethanol precipitation. Considering cost,work efficiency,etc. ,ultrasonic-assisted extraction was showed to be the most promising method for extracting polysaccharides from FOLIUM MORI.

  • Study on Ultrasonic Extraction of Alkaloid from Achnatherum inebrians(Hance) Keng

    [Objective]To study the ultrasonic extraction technology of alkaloid from Achnatherum inebrians(Hance) Keng. [Method]40 kHz ultrasonic aqueous medium was used to treat Achnatherum inebrians(Hance) Keng powder,the filtrate was obtained by removing the impurities by water extraction method,and then extracted respectively with the solvents of chloroform,ethyl acetate and n-butanol. And the alkaloids were obtained in the case of solvent recovery under vacuum distillation. The swainsonine was analyzed by the method of thin-layer chromatography and infrared spectrum. [Result]The optimal combinations of the factors were A1 B2 C2 D2 ,and the optimum extraction conditions were as follows: 1∶ 7. 5 (g /ml) of solid-liquid ratio,60 ℃ of temperature,250 W of ultrasonic power and 60 min of ultrasonic time,under those conditions,the extraction rate was 2. 06 mg /g from dried A. inebrians; and 14. 04 mg /g from fresh A. inebrians. Identification results showed that the mixed alkaloids of Achnatherum inebrians(Hance) Keng contained swainsonine. [Method]This method was rapid and efficient with high accuracy,therefore it could be applied to the extraction of alkaloids from Achnatherum inebrians(Hance) Keng.

  • Study on Optimization of Ultrasonic-assisted Extraction of Antioxidants from Portulaca oleracea L.

    [Objective]To study the optimum extraction technology of antioxidants from Portulaca oleracea L. [Method]On the basis of single-factor experiment,the effects of ethanol concentration,solid-liquid ratio,extraction time and extraction times on scavenging rate of DPPH radical were inspected. According to the experimental design principles of Box-Benhnken,a four-factor and three-level response surface modeling ( RSM) was adopted to study the ultrasonic extraction technology of antioxidant from Portulaca oleracea L. [Result]Based on analyzing the significance of each factor and their interactions,the optimum extraction conditions were determined as follows: the ethanol concentration was 68%,solid-liquid ratio was 1∶ 22 g /ml,extraction time was 44 min and extraction times was 3. Under the optimized conditions,the actual scavenging rate of DPPH free radical was 0. 911 7,close to the theoretical value of 0. 913 501. [Conclusion]The ultrasonic method had the advantages of high extraction rate, short time and low ultrasonic power,therefore it could be the method for extracting antioxidant compounds from Portulaca oleracea L.

  • Advance in Melastoma dodecandrum Lour. Researches

    [Objective]To review the biological property,chemical constituents and their content determination methods,edible value,medicinal value,landscape application and reproduction system of Melastoma dodecandrum Lour. [Method] M. dodecandrum researches are reviewed based on relevant studies and field investigation. [Result]M. dodecandrum,born in acid and neutral soils and resistant to drought and barren,is a kind of perennial straggly or creeping sub-shrub herb that is fond of high-temperature humid climate and that could grow well in full sunlight or half cloudy areas. Its stem outline is similar to circle,and its medulla is large. The pollen is subprolate in shape and covered with net-rodlike ornamenta- tion on the surface. Seeds are shallow rice yellow or yellow in colour,nephroid,triangle or arch in shape,relatively full and pucker-free. In addition to various metal elements such as Na,K,Mg,Ca,Pe,Co,Ni,Cu,Zn,Mn,Cd and Pb,M. dodecandrum contains some chemical constituents of acidoid,steroidal triterpenes,saponins,flavonoids,lactones,alkaloids,amino acids,peptides,sugar and polysaccharides. Furthermore,gallic acid could be served as the quality control index because of its high content and determined by RP-HPLC. Total phenols could be separated by HPD100 resin. M. dodecandrum has high medicinal,edible and landscape application values,and it could be reproduced through seeds,cuttings and tissue culture. [Conclusion]The study provides references for further developing and utilizing M. dodecandrum resources.
